Lieutenant Colonel Alex T. Luedtke graduated from Rockhurst University and was commissioned in 2007. As a Lieutenant, he served as a Platoon Commander and Operations Advisor with 2d Battalion, 1st Marines for deployments to Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
As a Captain, he served as the Headquarters and Service Company Commander with 2d Battalion, 2d Marines for a deployment to the Black Sea Rotational Force. Upon redeployment, he assumed command of Fox Company, 2d Battalion, 2d Marines. Following an assignment at Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR), he served as the Weapons Company Commander for 2d Battalion, 8th Marines for a deployment to the Black Sea Rotational Force.
As a Major, he served as the Fleet Anti-Terrorism Security Team Company Commander for Central Command (FASTCENT). As a Lieutenant Colonel, he served as the Plans Officer for 1st Marine Division, a G-35 Future Operations Officer and Deputy AC/S G-5 for I Marine Expeditionary Force.
His tours in the supporting establishment include service as an Instructor at Advisor Training Group in 29 Palms, CA.
His Joint assignments include service as a Force Generation Officer and Battle Captain for Combined Joint Task Force Inherent Resolve.
Lieutenant Colonel Luedtke is a graduate of Infantry Officer Course, Marine Advisors Course, Expeditionary Warfare School (Non-Resident), Winter Mountain Leaders, Tactical MAGTF Integrators Course (OTI), Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course (WTI), Marine Corps Command and Staff College (Resident & Non-Resident), and the School of Advanced Warfighting (SAW). He holds a master's degrees from Webster University and Marine Corps University.
Lieutenant Colonel Luedtke is married to Lieutenant Colonel Gloria Luedtke, USMC, the Operations Officer for 1st Combat Readiness Regiment, 1st Marine Logistics Group. They are the proud parents of Henry and Lucy.
