Biography

Advanced Infantry Training Battalion
Lieutenant Colonel Lonnie C. Wilson

Lieutenant Colonel Wilson graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and commissioned in August 2005.  He completed The Basic School and Infantry Officer Course and was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 6th Marines in October 2006.

While in 2nd Battalion, 6th Marines, Lieutenant Colonel Wilson deployed to Iraq as a Platoon Commander in Fox Company and again as an adviser on a military transition team.  In October 2009, he transferred to the Tactical Training and Exercise Control Group (TTECG) in 29 Palms, California.

From November of 2009 to November of 2011, Lieutenant Colonel Wilson served as an infantry representative at TTECG.   He then transferred to 1st Battalion, 7th Marines where he deployed to Afghanistan as the Assistant Operations Officer and to Jordan as Commander of Alpha Company.  In November of 2014, he was assigned to the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization (JIEDDO) in Virginia.

While at JIEDDO, Lieutenant Colonel Wilson served as the Deputy J-33 and the Director’s Aide.  In June 2016, he transferred back to 1st Battalion, 7th Marines and was assigned as the Battalion Operations Officer.

While in 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, Lieutenant Colonel Wilson deployed to Kuwait as the Ground Combat Element Operations Officer for Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Central Command.  In June 2018, he was assigned to the Expeditionary Warfare School (EWS) in Quantico, Virginia.

From June 2018 to June 2021, Lieutenant Colonel Wilson served as a Faculty Adviser at EWS and completed the School of Advanced Warfighting (SAW).  Following graduation from SAW, he was assigned to 3d MEB in Okinawa, Japan.

From June 2021 to June 2023, Lieutenant Colonel Wilson served as the Plans Officer for 3d MEB and Plans Officer for 3d MARDIV.
